Introducing Symposium Keynote Speaker – Werner Rüegsegger!
We are thrilled to introduce to you our Keynote Speaker for our 2019 Belize Sustainable Specialty Agriculture Symposium, Werner Rüegsegger.
Consulting in different countries, Werner is an expert in “Bean to Bar” single origin chocolate manufacturing. Having developed new products in Bakery, Confectionary, Confiserie and Chocolaterie Management.
Werner started on his path into the world of chocolate as an apprentice in 1963. After acquiring a Master Craftsman’s Diploma as a baker/confectioner in 1976 he went on to take over his parent’s bakery in Mühledorf and opened its 1st branch by taking over Confiserie Füeg in Solothurn.
He then became a vocational teacher in confectionery/confiserie and bakery/confiserie at Biel technical college, became a member of cantonal council of the SBKV as secretary, examiner for Master Craftsman practical and theoretical exams, became a member of Specialist Teachers’ Association of SBKV and Chef Instructor at SKBV
In 2000 Werner became the Owner of Rüegsegger-Confiseur-Soleure Company, with 5 locations and 2 cafés.
Since then he has served as Jury member and Specialist Advisor at the following international competitions:

2001 ‘Chocolatier of the year’, Lausanne
2003 World Skills in St Gallen
2004 UIPCG World Championship Masterclass Rimini
2005 World Skills in Helsinki, World chocolate Masters in Paris
2006 Ice Cream Makers World Championship in Rimini
2007 World Skills in Japan
Werner joins us at our Symposium to share a lifetime of experience in the chocolate industry.
